Illinois Central 3174  Contributor's Pick!       
Built by Pullman in 1926 (plan 3410F, Diagram 46; 10-section/lounge) as open end platform car Mt Angeles. Converted to closed end car with rear windows and renamed Dinwiddie in 1934. Present name given in 1937 for service on the N&W. Purchased by the Pullman Company in 1966 and used for excursion service until 1982. (Last service on the Dixie Limited). Appeared in two movies, "Eleanor and Franklin" (as FDR funeral car) and "Tad" (background piece) and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Ocotber 1991.

Joe White General This is not a correct paint scheme for this car. Pullman records do not show that this car was ever assigned to IC service. Per Pullman Co. this car was painted Pullman Standard until Nov. 1954, when it was repainted "red & brown", possibly to reflect the car's transfer to N&W pool service.
